Gong Ji-Young’s “Crucible” Gets Some Love in Chinese English-Language Paper

A little bit of coverage from last month in The China Post. In the interests of fairness, given some of the GNP foolishness that this site has previously pointed to here, it is worth noting the LMB is on Gong’s side:

Gong, 48, has a powerful supporter in her quest to toughen punishment for sex offenders — the country’s president, Lee Myung-bak.

After watching the film, Lee said society needed to be more conscious of sexual crimes against the disabled, and that he would work to better protect people with disabilities and minors. The government has proposed amendments which are pending debate in parliament.

So, good for him, and maybe he can reign in some of the GNP’s lesser intellectuals in the countryside.^^

Also, of course, it’s just nice to see more coverage of the book and movie.
