Krys Lee short-listed for BBC international short story award

KTLIT LogoKrys Lee, author of the awesome short story collection Drifting House, and occasional friend of this blog, has been shortlisted for the BBC international short story award. The Guardian covers that in an article that is pretty oddly formatted.

About Lee’s story, The Guardian is remarkably reticent:

Krys Lee, born in Seoul, is in the running for her story The Goose Father, in which a man stays in South Korea while his wife and children move to America for a better life,

Which is an accurate, but wholly insufficient, description of the story.^^

Better news from Booktrust:

Ten of the UK’s top actors – including Rory Kinnear and Andrew Scott – will each read one of the shortlisted stories, to be broadcast daily on BBC Radio 4 at 3.30pm from Monday. Each story will become available on the day of broadcast as a free download available for two weeks. Then it will be available as a commercial audiobook via AudioGo. The BBC International Short Story Award 2012 Anthology, published by Comma Press, is available at all good bookshops and the Comma Press store from Monday, as well as in Kindle format.

So all this is gonna be checkoutable (I think I just made up a word?)
