I had a lovely lunch, yesterday, with the President of the Korean Literature Translation Institute KLTI), Doctor Joo youn Kim (김주영), Editor-in-chief Kim Sun-hye (김선헤), and Eunji Oh (오은지) from the Education Management Department.

One of the interesting things that came out of this meeting is that the KLTI has moved into social media. Now, not only is the KLTI present on the Wikipedia, but it a has also moved into Twitter and Facebook.

This means that anyone interested in Korean literature or translation should hop immediately over to twitter and become a follower:
http://twitter.com/#!/KLTI_Academy.

Also, KLTI has created a facebook Community Organization page which you can “like” and comment on here:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/KLTI-Academy/115057405240876.

I think social media is one of the powerful tools that can be used to spread knowledge about Korean literature (thus the Wikipedia and the All Literature Online projects here), and I’m glad to see that the KLTI has jumped in.

So go ahead and check them out.

On a more personal level, I was invited to the 10th Korean Literature Translation Award and 10th Korean Literature Translation Award for New Translators, which I will cover here in two weeks.

Also, and my personal favorite, I have been asked to present in September at the KLTI’s  Annual Conference. I think my talk will be “Three Ways to Increase KLTI Successes in the 21st Century.”  Let’s just say I have a couple of small notions! 😉
