Little Bits of Literature (Buckwheat Blossoms and Kim Hoon) in the Yeouido Hangang Park

If you missed the “When Buckwheat Blossoms Bloom” festival this month? And who didn’t who speaks English, since it occurred from 9.05.2014 ~ 09.14.2014 and wasn’t really advertised in English, there is still hope to see buckwheat blooming in its native glory (and pour a bit of soju out for Kim Hyeo-sok). we had a walk on the Han today that revealed you can still see Buckwheat Blossoms (and in much tidier and closer clusters), on Seonyudo a little man-made island just off the south shore of the Han (click to embiggen).

And, a bit further towards the Yellow Sea, tucked under a bridge, are three small placards, one of which reveals author Kim Hoon (of the terrifying “Powder”) as a bit of a naturalist and fan of the river.
